THE HARDER SET

Pick your puzzle.

Eight boards. Familiar words. Less obvious links.

HOW TO PLAY

Find the common thread.

  1. Select four words that share something in common, then tap Submit.
  2. Find all four groups before making four mistakes.
  3. “One away” means three of your four words belong together. A repeated guess won’t cost you a mistake.
  4. Some words fit more than one idea. A tempting group may have five candidates—find the arrangement that uses all sixteen words.
For example: shades of red

CRIMSON · MAROON · RUBY · SCARLET

Yellow is usually the easiest group; purple often involves wordplay. Hints start small and can reveal a category or one word. Results include your hint count.

On a keyboard: Tab to a word, Space to select it, Enter to submit, Escape to clear. Progress is saved on this browser.
